Time Travel Trading Update #21

Tony Taylor walked along the Philadelphia Baseball Wall of Fame and found the plaque with his name on it. A tidal wave of memories came to him - days of pure joy on a baseball diamond. He missed those days, and now he had been blessed with an opportunity to go back again. Thanks to some miracle machine he couldn't quite explain, he now stood here in a body 40 years younger. Young enough to play again, if the Phillies were willing to give him a shot. He glanced at his watch and checked the time. His meeting with the organization's executives was still a half-hour away. Plenty of time to stroll out to the field, maybe take a grounder or two. Yes, that feeling of pure joy will be back soon...

It's been awhile, hasn't it?  Almost 6 weeks without new cards to show off here. Fortunately, Gavin from Baseball Card Breakdown came to the rescue! He's putting together the 1978 Topps set, and grabbed three cards from the Time Travel Trade Stack. In return, he sent me some more 70's goodness:

Tony the Tiger and a couple of '75 Padres in all their brown and mustard colored splendor! These guys are great additions to the stack, and they can be yours easily! Help me keep this project flowing! Make me an offer!

The Time Travel Trading Project is simple in concept. I started out with a random pack of 2018 Topps Series 1 baseball cards. My aim was to trade every card in that pack for something older. Each card I receive in turn is then made available for trade, with the goal to get the oldest card I can get.

Number of trades completed: 26
Unique trading partners: 21

Number of cards mailed out: 57
Year of oldest card mailed out: 1956

Number of cards received: 134
Year of oldest card received: 1938
