Repack Haiku #431 (Joel Skinner)

Catching heir to Fisk
Could not hit well and lost job
Traded to Yankees

1989 Donruss #427 Joel Skinner

In 1986, the White Sox moved Carlton Fisk to left field and installed Skinner as their catcher. It did not go well. Skinner hit only .171 in April, forcing the White Sox to put Fisk back behind the plate. He was traded to the Yankees later that summer.

  1. Had no idea Fisk played a little bit of outfield.

    1. Me neither. Just looked it up and he even played third base a few times in the early 80's for the Red Sox.
