Time Travel Trading Update #111

 

Alright! Lots of trades and lots of cards to go through today! This feels like the kind of update that will generate a lot of new trades based on the sheer number and varirty of cards in it. I'm going to predict at least 6 trades will come from this lot. Time will tell if I'm right or not, but until then let's look at some cards!

 

We'll kick things off with a trade from Brendan (The View From The Third Floor) that took a while longer than normal to get here. I blame the big snowstorm, but even bad weather didn't stop Brendan's bounty of cards!

 

Next is Jeff (Wax Pack Wonders) who accepted my challenge by trading for a 1925 card. Along with a beautiful eclectic mix of cards, Jeff sent one back that is 110 years old!

I will confess I'm not 100% sure if those TCMA cards are the original issues or reprints that the company put out years later. I used the images on the TCDB to make my best guess!

 

Speaking of the TCDB, I received a trade offer from the wonderfully named Matt. He actually picked up 2 vintage cards, but it wasn't until after I accepted that I realized that one of the cards wasn't in the track stack! Turns out I had retired it and added it to my collection, and just forgot to update it in my TCDB collections. So I kept one card he sent back, and this messy haired gent will be up for grabs!

 

Greg's (Night Owl Cards) PWE of goodies arrived next. I had to do a double take and confirm that yes, the guy's name is Boobie! (Actually, it's Charles Lee, but as far as nicknames go "Boobie" is an interesting choice to say the least!)

TCDB member Eric must be a Kirby Puckett fan, because he nabbed 3 of them in a trade. I got to pick what he sent back:

 

You'll notice I'm not showing the back to these. It's because I've already claimed them for myself. I actually had another trade that required a personal swap between my collection. I'll show off what I put into the stack at the end.

 

Brendan's (The View From The Third Floor) 2nd trade of the post arrived within it's normal expected timeframe. and this batch is highlighted by one of the Hall of Fame's newest members, Jeff Kent!

 

Bo (Baseball Cards Come To Life!) has a tradition he's kept with me the past few years. Every year, I add a new pack of the latest Topps base set. Every year, Bo hangs back to give other people first crack, then claims any leftovers from that pack. It's worked out quite well for the both of us I think.

A trio of Hall of Famers highlights this group, but I must say 1999 Upper Deck has one of the sharpest looking subsets I've ever seen. I've always enjoyed cards showing off all the countries the players come from, and have often thought these counties of origin should be displayed on their uniforms somewhere (on the back above the name wuld be cool...)

 

Dominic (Don Cardwell Loves This Blog) was one of the individuals who claimed some of the 2026 cards ahead of Bo, and sent these lovely cards for the 2 he claimed:
