Four times in five years
Reached ninth with no hits, fell short
'Til gem against Tribe
Four times between 1985-1989, Stieb pitched a no-hitter into the ninth inning, falling short each time. He finally completed the first no-hitter in Blue Jays history on September 2, 1990 against the Cleveland Indians.
Underrated pitcher.
ReplyDeleteStieb is such an underrated pitcher. I became a huge fan of his back in the 80's when I discovered he was the most notable baseball player to attend the same high school as me.
ReplyDeleteThe Jays could use him right now!
