Payday Pack - Hold Me Close Now Tiny Beni...

This edition of Payday Pack is a bit of a cheat. Rather than buy a pack on payday, I treated myself to a pack for my birthday last week. The local Wally World was down to it's last pack of Heritage, so I grabbed the remaining hanger box available.

Here are my 3 favorites:

3rd Place

2018 Heritage #118 Cody Bellinger (ASR)

Cody Bellinger does not like the sun in his eyes...

2nd Place

2018 Heritage #458 Jonathan Villar (SP)

I can't tell if Jonathan Villar is getting himself set for a football play, or just showing off some sweet dance moves...

1st Place

2018 Heritage - 1969 Decals #13 Andrew Benintendi

My Heritage purchases have been quite limited, yet this is the second Benintendi insert I've pulled (the other being his New Age performers insert). I'm apparently destined to have all his inserts...

Others Not Appearing On Stage

#204 Travis Shaw
#283 Brett Phillips
#79 2018 Diamondbacks Rookie Stars (Banda/Sherfy)
#17 Zach Davies
#33 Gio Gonzalez
#207 Jorge Polanco
#99 2018 Twins Rookie Stars (Granite/Jorge)
#327 Yasiel Puig
#91 Josh Donaldson
#194 Roberto Osuna
#157 Cody Allen
#248 CC Sabathia
#259 Brandon McCarthy
#66 2018 Orioles Rookie Stars (Hays/Sisco)
#202 Dallas Keuchel
#2 of 30 Jose Altuve (1969 Topps Deckle Edge insert)
#355 Brandon Kintzler
#290 Jose Berrios
#257 Hunter Pence
#296 Reynaldo Lopez
#135 2018 Nationals Rookie Stars (Read/Fedde)
#348 German Marquez (ASR)
#305 Josh Bell
#383 Jose De Leon
#199 Jason Kipnis
#386 Alex Gordon
#185 Starling Marte
#400 Carlos Gomez
#181 Mark Reynolds
#84 Mike Clevinger
#4 2017 NL RBI Leaders
#127 Carlos Correa (AS)

Weird sorting in this pack - 3 of the first 4 cards were Brewers, then I had instances of back-to-back Twins and Blue Jays cards!

  1. The Decals look strange, are they wax paper material, like an old wrapper or temporary tattoo?

  2. I'll be honest, I'm not sure! It comes encased in it's own clear sleeve, and I haven't taken it out of there. The original decals from the '69 set were rub-offs, so I'm thinking it may be here as well.
