In addition to all those cards I claimed from Nick's 10th Anniversary giveaway, he also included some bonus cards. When I get a decent sized stack of cards, it only makes sense to highlight a handful of them. With that in mind, I present my top 9 favorites from the bonus stack!
9. He Might Be Giant
This fun 2020 Archives card really shows how larger than life David Ortiz was!
8. Scrapping The Bottom Of The Box
Miscut, scuffed, and sporting a yellow border before Fleer made it memorable, this box bottom Dewey is fantastic.
7. Rico...Suave!
Petrocelli was one of the greatest shortstops in Red Sox history, and still holds the team record of 40 home runs in a season for the position.
6. I Can't Promise There Will Be Nomar Puns...
Speaking of great shortstops, this cool looking card celebrates Nomar breaking Jim Rice's 19 year team record for..at-bats in a season...well, not exciting, but still a great looking card!
5. Back In Black
If I was a player collector, Lowell would be on the short list of guys I collect. Until I got this card, I was unaware that there were black parallels of these Upper Deck Heroes cards.
4. Getting Closer
Not all of the bonus cards were Red Sox cards. Nick also included a couple 2016 Topps Archives needs. Not counting short-prints, I now only need 15 more cards for the base set!
3. Three New Pairs Of Sox
Nick also got that much closer to this year's base set for the team. Kiki and the Double Bath are the star cards here, and look another Wong! (my third so far!)
2. Short (Print) And Sweet
My smile isn't as nice, but is was that big when I saw this card! What an awesome card of Fisk!
1. O Canada!
The "holy crap" moment for me was seeing this quartet of vintage O-Pee-Chee. Ce sont super!
Thank a bunch Nick!
Loving those OPC's and that Fisk, wow.
ReplyDeleteIf someone's gonna have extra vintage OPC's to send out, it's gonna be Nick!
ReplyDeleteNice cards...Nick was extremely generous with his giveaway!
