Tied World Series mark
By striking out six straight guys
Not bad for a rook
Worrell
was called up by the Cardinals in August 1985 and helped them to the
World Series. He retired 6 straight batters via strikeout in Game 5. Of
course, he was also the pitcher during Game 6's famous blown call by
umpire Don Denkinger.
He was a good pitcher. I remember the '87 Series and when he would come in my friends and I would be like 'oh crap'. But the Twins faired pretty well in that series.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a cutout of him as been pasted on to that background.
