Repack Haiku #372 (Van Snider)

Royals traded him
For future All-Star closer
Later joined police

1989 Donruss #586 Van Snider (RC)

Snider was and up-and-coming prospect in the Kansas City system when he was traded to Cincinati in exchange for a rookie pitcher who had just finished the season with 6.52 ERA. That trade worked out well for Kansas City, as Snider played in only 19 games across two seasons with the Reds. Meanwhile, Jeff Montgomery became a 3 time All-Star and finished in the top 30 all-time in career saves.

Snider later became a detective in the Mayfield Heights, OH police department, becoming part of their Drug Enforcement Unit.

  1. Sounds like things turned out okay for him in the end.
