Montreal starter
Gave up three of four home runs
Hit by Bob Horner
1989 Fleer #386 Andy McGaffigan |
McGaffigan found himself on the wrong side of history on July 6, 1986. The Atlanta Braves' Bob Horner tattooed him for three home runs in the game, then proceeded in becoming the 11th player in history to hit 4 in a game when he went deep against reliever Jeff Reardon. Remarkably, the Expos won that game 11-8.

ReplyDeleteThis one took some time searching on Google! McAffigan didn't do too much noteworthy stuff professionally, but one search result happened to be an article recalling Horner's feat!
DeleteI had to go look at the list after reading this. Turns out Bob Horner was the only player to do this during the 80's as well.
