Trapped In Time: Remnants Of The 115th And 116th Trades

It's time to thin the herd! Chances are if a card has been sitting in the trade stack for over 3 years, it isn't going to get traded. (Obviously there have been exceptions to this, but for the most part it's true.) Today I offer up leftovers from two more 2021 trades.

Trade #115 Tim C. (TCDB)
Traded 08/27/21:  1971 Topps #63 AL 1970 RBI Leaders (Howard/Conigliaro/Powell), 1971 Topps #69 AL 1970 Pitching Leaders  (Cuellar/McNally/Perry)

Received 08/30/21:
  • 1970 Topps #222 Jim Rooker
  • 1961 Topps #256 Billy Hoeft (See Trade #125)

It's funny how sometimes things circle back. Over three years since this trade, Tim made his 2nd Time Travel Trade. I showed that trade off just this Monday!

Fun Fact: Rooker was the first Royals player to hit 2 home runs in a game!

Trade #116 Jeff (Wax Pack Wonders)
Traded 08/27/21: 2017 Donruss Certified Cuts - Highlight Reels Silver (football) #23 Carson Wentz (SN99), 1982 Topps #480 Steve Carlton, 1972 Topps #438 Maury Wills (IA), 1971 Topps #90 Joe Pepitone, 1970 Topps #90 Tim McCarver, 1970 Topps #324 Tony Taylor

Received 08/30/21:
  • 1982 Fleer Team Action (football) #49 Giving Second Effort (See Trade #122)
  • 1971 Topps #237 Cesar Cedeno (RC) (See Trade #228)
  • 1970 Topps #93 Rick Renick
  • 1970 Topps #445 Vada Pinson
  • 1969 Topps #516 Earl Weaver (MGR) (See Trade #215)
  • 1968 Topps (football) #138 Ken Gray (See Trade #121)
  • 1962 Topps #364 Ken Hunt

Our next wayward cards come from a trade with Jeff (Wax Pack Wonders) . This lot is highlighted by 4x All-Star Pinson. Personally, I'm amused that all 3 caps have a "C" on them. (The things I notice!)

These 4 cards will be retired and added to my personal collection unless someone makes a last minute claim! All it takes is a card older than what you're getting, so let's make with the offers!

  1. I'll take Rooker and Pinson.
Just add them to next month please.
