It's time to take a look at a few more cards and see which ones deserve inclusion in my Red Sox Frankenset. Just a refresher, I'm going
through my Red Sox doubles and picking the best at each number for the
Frankenset. Let's roll!
#22
Favorite Card: 2014 Topps #22 Mike Napoli (WS)
My Choice: 1985 Topps Woolworth All Time Record Holders #22 Hub Leonard
These are three excellent cards to choose from. The Quaker Chewy is a much better food issue Boggs card than the one that made the Frankenset last time. That's also the reason why it is firmly in last place. I think the Napoli is a fantastic card highlighting their 2013 World Series, but I can't pass on Hubert "Dutch" Leonard, a legend of Red Sox yesteryear.
#23
Favorite Card: Donruss #23 Ellis Burks (DK)
My Choice: 2002 Fleer Maximum #23 Pedro Martinez
As much as I love the classic Diamond Kings subsets, I already have an Ellis Burks head shot on a Donruss card. Besides, 23 cards in and this is my first Pedro!
#24
Favorite Card: 1993 Topps #24 Tim Naehring
My Choice: same
Pretty easy choice here. Lowe was a solid member of the Red Sox for years, but the action on Naehring is too good.
With these selections, Here's how the middle line of Page 3 looks:
What say you, good readers? Did I make the right choices?
22. Boggs
ReplyDelete23. Burks
24. Lowe
Other than those, you were spot on.
I would said 22 Dutch Leonard 23 Boggs 24 Lowe reasoning behind 23 it's showing the final swing in a classy hitter & reasoning behind 22 point out the other nickname he went by & as for 24 Lowe was the only insane member of the Idiots in 04
