Murphy started the 2025 season on the IL after fracturing a rib in Spring Training. Then in early September he went under the knife to repair a torn labrum in his right hip. The missed time allowed rookie catcher Drake Baldwin to shine, winning the NL Rookie of the Year Award. It'll be interesting to see how these two catchers split playing time.
