#490 Andrew McCutchen

Last season, "Cutch" became the 11th player all time  to hit at least 10 home runs in each of their first 17 seasons! The list he joined is quite impressive:

  • Hank Aaron (23 straight seasons!)
  • Eddie Murray (20)
  • Carl Yastrzemski (20)
  • Barry Bonds (19)
  • Albert Pujols (19)
  • Frank Robinson (19)
  • Harold Baines (18)
  • Mickey Mantle (18)
  • Jeff Kent (17)
  • Willie McCovey (17)

  1. Had to look up Griffey, who would have been on this list if not for an injury shortened 2002 season.

  2. So, what you're saying is... Cutch for Hall of Fame? ;)

I'm happy to see he's still playing fairly well, and I hope he can extend that streak. The Bucs have some good young players coming up, but I'm afraid he'll be retired before they're ready. :/

  3. Comparing him to the weakest HOFer on the list, Harold Baines - Cutch beats Baines in WAR, 49-38. Definitely a better peak. Baines was much more consistent though. At age 38 Cutch had 40 WAR by age 30, 9 WAr in his 30s.
