Hope springs eternal in the game of
baseball. One of the best things about the sport is that you don't have

gotten knocked down, gotten up and persevered.

individual spent over 40 years playing the game he loved, and more
often than not found himself on the losing end. On this day in 1993, the
impossible happened:

Charlie Brown, baseball hero.
Happy Anniversary Charlie Brown! May your never-give-up attitude and love for the game be an inspiration to all!
(...and Happy birthday to me!)

Happy birthday! So cool to be born on the day of such a momentous event in baseball history.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Matt! Interestingly enough, Cody Ponce is making his season debut this year. The 31-year old last played in the majors in 2021, when he had an ERA north of 7.00. He came his way back to the Majors this year after playing foreign ball for four years. Ponce went 17-1 with a 1.89 ERA in the KBO last year before getting signed by the Blue Jays. He just came to mind when I saw your post title :)
