Oregon has produced a lot of All-Star caliber players, but the 2-time MVP stands above all others. As for his Hall of Fame candidacy? Count me in as a supporter: he was was one of the greatest players of the 80's!
When he was first discussed as a HOFer 30 years ago I didnt think his batting average was high enough. Lol, look at today's hitters. He kind of fell off in his 30s, but that didn't stop Andruw Jones from getting in.
ReplyDeleteWhile I think Murph's career does need to be revisited I still want to see Kenny Lofton and Lou Whitaker get in first :)

ReplyDeleteJust looked up the list of ballplayers from Oregon. Impressive. I agree that Dale is above the rest. And if I had one, he'd get my vote.
