First modern player
To lead each league in batting
Rockies then Yankees
 |
| 2017 Topps Update #US230 DJ LeMahieu (AS) |
LeMahieu won his first batting title in 2016 with the Rockies, leading the National League with a .348 average. Four years later (2020) as a member of the Yankees, he led the American League, batting .364 in the shortened season.
You don’t see batting averages like that anymore. I don’t think I realized DJ won batting titles in both leagues. Maybe cause I blocked 2020 from my mind.
ReplyDeleteI remember him winning it in Colorado, but not New York. Wish there were more .300 hitters in the game.
DeleteYankees sure could use someone like him now
