Every July 1st, Mets fans celebrate "Bobby Bonilla Day". Thanks to a restructured contract agreement, the former slugger (who last played in 2001) will get $1.19 million every year until 2035. Lesser known is the fact that the Baltimore Orioles also owe him deferred payments of $500,000 every year until 2028. Whoever negotiated his contracts was genius...
Is this contract the best in history of all sports? Sure seems like it is.
