It's a special last minute post to wish legendary Buffalo Bills coach and NFL Hall of Famer Marv Levy a happy 100th birthday!
Levy, of course, was the man who led the Bills to 4 straight Super Bowls, and one of the most beloved and respected in Western New York.
Back in 2004, Marv released his book, "Where Else Would You Rather Be?". As part of his promotional tour, he stopped my the local book store in Fredonia, NY (where the Bills used to have their summer training camps). It was there when I got to meet him and get a signed copy of his book.
I never noticed my picture being taken. It wasn't until months later when I visited the store again that I saw their back wall was covered in photos that the employees took from that event. I think they took a picture of everyone in line that night. I looked, and sure enough there I was watching Mr. Levy inscribe my book. The pics were there for the patrons to take, so I grabbed my pic and it's been with the book ever since.
It's amazing whenever any person reaches a century in age, and fans everywhere are blessed this wise man is still with us. Happy birthday Marv Levy, and thanks for the memories!
very cool!
