Blood clot in his arm
Advised not to throw again
Made five game comeback
During the 1990 season, McCullers was diagnosed with a blood clot in his throwing arm. Pieces of the clot remained in his hand and he was warned that if he continued to pitch, he risked amputation. After successful surgery, McCullers made his way back to the Majors with the Texas Rangers, appearing in 5 games.

Had to be a tough decision. Hope Lance never had any other complications with the blood clot.
ReplyDeleteHis son is like his father both determination to pitch until their arms fall off if you think about that
