Blog Trade: More Cards From Rancho Murieta, CA

Have you ever noticed  how sometimes sports card blogs will feature the same cards/sets for completely different reasons? Lately the 1978 Topps set has been calling out to me. When Topps Had Balls recently released a set of customs featuring 1978's top home run hitters. Night Owl showed off some 78's as well. I'm pretty sure I've seen that familiar '78 design on a few blogs in the past month.

A few weeks ago, I showed off some O-Pee-Chee cards I got in a trade from a reader named Dave. Before I could even get his return package mailed out, Dave reached out again with some 1978 Topps I needed:

With this trade, the amount of cards needed to complete this set was cut in half! I'm down to needing just 17 more cards, and I can't help but think this needs to be goal for the upcoming year.

In addition to these fine set needs, Dave also included some bonus cards:

I'll admit that I was initially confused by what he sent me. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to them, but they still somehow seemed familiar to me. Turns out Dave mistook my Time Travel Trade stack as a want list! Whoops! (For what it's worth - some of those cards were not in my collection anyways, so I was still happy to add them!)

Favorite Card: Hail to Ken Forsch and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!

Thanks again Dave!

  2. Not a favorite design of mine, but it is very popular amongst the bloggers, so maybe I just have a bad taste?
