Final year was great
But issues with his shoulder
Ended his career
An unexpected sunset card - Calero had an amazing season in the Marlins' bullpen, easily his best season ever. Despite being in his early 30's, he had trouble parlaying that great year into a new contract because of potential issues with his shoulder. His 1.95 ERA was the fourth best ever for a reliever in his final season (min. 50IP).
Bummer.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks when an arm injury wrecks a player's career.
ReplyDeleteHe was pretty solid with the A's. It's funny... never consider him a blogger favorite... but I just saw another blog (All Cardinals All The Time) write a post about him.
