Oh, those 1986 Mets! Teufel and 3 teammates were arrested in July of that season for their part in a bar fight with an off duty police officer in Houston. Teufel was fined $200 and given 1 year of probation. The bar would later sell "Houston Police 4, Mets 0" t-shirts during the ‘86 NLCS.
I'd forgotten about Teufel until recently. If I had to name the '86 Mets infield for trivia night or something, I probably would have recalled Wally Backman first - but thats probably because I was too young to hear about the bar fight.
