Repack Haiku #289 (Ruben Sierra)

Limited a bright career
Learned this lesson late
1990 Donruss #174 Ruben Sierra
Sierra's SABR Bio details how this extremely talented ballplayer's "stats above team" attitude kept him from being the ballplayer he was easily capable of becoming. He had a long career, a good career, but it could have been so much more.

  1. He was the first player that I can remember ever thinking was a lock for the HOF. 30 years later and I still suck at picking future HOFers.

  2. Not sure I considered him a lock like Jon... but I did hoard Ruben's rookie cards because he could hit for power and average. But the thing I most remember him for was the A's trading Canseco for him.
