I've always liked when baseball cards celebrated the individual end-of-year awards that players win. Whether it's a simple foil logo or an awesome image of the award winner standing next to the legend the award was named after, these cards shows a very important part of baseball's history. Although I'm not a huge fan of the set's graphical design, I was very appreciative that the 2017 Topps set had an insert series depicting the off-season's winners. I especially liked that they included the lesser celebrated awards like Manager of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year. I eventually added the set to my "So Close" page, and last month was offered a trade by a TCDB member named Colin that knocked out all but one card from my needs list:
Mike Trout becomes the last man standing for me to polish off this insert list, and I have a trade currently in progress to get him in!
Favorite Card: Boggs has the best design, but I have a soft spot for Tito, who I had the opportunity to meet once.
Thanks for the cards, Colin!
As far as individual award cards go, I'm the exact polar opposite.
