After becoming the second youngest pitcher to throw a no-hitter in 1987, few collectors would have guessed in 1989 that this card would end up being his sunset card. Currently an assistant pitching coach for the Detroit Tigers, he was the pitching coach for the Red Sox from 2013 to 2015. Here's a picture of him with Jon Lester from a 2013 Spring Training game I attended:
I was somewhat familiar with Nieves when he was a Brewers prospect but certainly more as the Red Sox pitching coach.
