Trapped In Time: Remnants Of The 26th Trade

 Aimez-vous le film "E.T." ?

If you know just enough French to read the above sentence (or if you even know how to use Google Translate), then this is the post for you!

Today, one of the more unusual cards in the trade stack makes it's way to the chopping block:

Trade #26 (Joe: CrazieJoe's Card Corner)
Traded 08/30/18: 1986 Topps #2 Rose Special '63-'66, 1986 Topps #3 Rose Special '67-'70, 1986 Topps #4 Rose Special '71-'74, 1986 Topps #7 Rose Special '83-'85

Received 09/04/18:
  • 2008-09 O-Pee-Chee (hockey) #128 Tim Thomas (See Trade #81)
  • 2001 Upper Deck - e-Card (golf) #E-TW Tiger Woods (See Trade #36)
  • 1985 Topps #694 Joe Carter (See Trade #140)
  • 1983 Topps (football) #219 Joe Cribbs (LL) (See Trade #29)
  • 1983 Topps (football) #280 Mike Renfro (See Trade #29)
  • 1983 Topps (football) #307 Jim Plunkett (See Trade #29)
  • 1982 O-Pee-Chee E.T. The Extraterrestrial (non-sport) #15 Among Elliott's Toys
Growing up near the Canadian border, I have a soft spot for our neighbors to the North. Thanks to Canadian TV, Sesame Street taught me how to count to 10 in French. That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge in the language, outside the wonderful world of cards. Joe (CrazieJoe's Card Corner) added some international fun to the trade stack with a package that contained 4 different sports (including the first golf card!). Those went quickly, leaving behind this cool little non-sport item:

"E.T. The Extra Terrestrial" was an iconic 80's movie that quite honestly still holds a lot of fond memories today. The set from this movie is well done, and probably has one of the better borders of any movie-based set out there. Plus it's O-Pee-Chee, so you get to learn more French!

If no one here wants to trade for it, I'll do my best to trade it on the TCDB. (It'll be tough, only 3 people have it on their want list, and 2 of them haven't logged in recently.) Failing that, I'm not sure. It's unique enough where I might keep it in the trade stack, but fun enough that I may add it to my collection too! We'll see!
